Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Mahmud Gumi has reacted to the gruesome Kano blast which occured yesterday and has claimed over 200 lives.
Sheik Abubakar Gumi prayed for the souls of the dead and also for quick recovery of the injured.
He demand resignation of officials at fault and said that if things don’t change there will be a more deadly attack.
He posted this on his facebook page, Full Statement below…
In the past the blasts were so many and uncountable. The latest in Kano yesterday has so far been the deadliest. We pray for the souls of the murdered and the quick recovery of the injured in this and in the past.
However if things remain constant after this latest blast, then we should expect the next which can be deadlier.
If heads will still not roll with no resignations or impeachments and trials, just wait for the next blast and don’t blame anyone. It’s our collective failure
Don’t also dream that you will be ever safe if your neighbors are not safe. When it comes to security, the security of your neighbors and neighborhood should be part and parcel of your security plans. When you fail to do that you become vulnerable and it will just be a matter of time.
If kano can be savagely attacked, Kaduna can also be attacked. So is also Abuja, Ibadan, Lagos etc. No where in Nigeria you can be safe.
Once the war against terror is secretive, jaundiced and opaque we are yet to be out of the woods.
As an example, just about a month ago a police officer was caught in Kaduna red handed stealing weapons and ammunitions for his people in plateau, the next day he was silenced under police custody. So also is his case silenced. His religion and tribe never mattered even in the press.

We are living in delusion. We are in disarray. Elders are largely either corruptly silent or partisan. The politicians are selfish and artificial. The traditional system has since been neutralized. The leadership of religious institutions is the most lucrative employment. The Judiciary is in epileptic stupor.
The educational institution is destructive and counter productive. The youth perverted. The military is stinky and the masses are messy.
It’s only in the aircraft or on the operation table that people agree the most qualified should pilot it or surgically operate. It doesn’t matter whether he is a Jew or a Muslim. This is the crux of the matter people don’t still understand now. Corruption has appeared in the land and sea, so you cannot depend on no man whether religious or ethnic to captivate your mind for him only to manipulate your sentiments for his worldly gains. This made it paramount to adopt the scientific check and balance system of governance. Not that based on faith or ethnicity. Who’s faith and who’s tribe?
There are people still today when you give them power they don’t only try promote their faith but suppress others. This may hold true when true men of God were in charge. To God belongs everything. So we can’t say that of prophets and their companions. But today when the truth itself is elusive to the very ‘preacher’ of truth. We have no option but to stay neutral. Allow everyone to practice his religion so long as he doesn’t encroach on the rights of others. This way we can mutually coexist in peace and tranquility.
Yet as sad as we are, let us navigate with the ‘wrecked’ ship and do the little best we can do since everyone of us believes God de oo!
May Allah protect all. Amin
Yesterday’s Kano bomb blast which occured on prayer grounds is the most deadly attack so far this year by Boko Haram insurgents
