A 28-year-old-man, Umar Bello, was on Friday sentenced to three months imprisonment by a Minna Magistrate’s Court for theft and criminal breach.
The convict, who was docked on two counts charge of theft and escaping from lawful custody before Magistrate Hafsat Abdullahi, pleaded guilty and prayed the court for leniency.
Corporal Suleiman Mohammed, the Police Prosecutor had earlier told the court that one Gambo Maliki of Kadna Village reported the case to the Police on July 4.
He said the accused who resides at Kuta Road, Minna, Niger State, stole Maliki’s black Jincheng motorcycle valued at N110, 000 at Tunga Goro and was arrested by the Police, but escaped from police custody after his initial arrest before he was re-arrested.
