Jonathan Reveals Why Abducted Girls Have Not Been Rescued
President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday, said the over 234 secondary school girls that were abducted in Chibok, Borno State on April 14, 2014, are yet to be rescued because government wants to bring them back alive.
The president made this known during the weekly National Council of State meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where the security situation in the country was deliberated on with particular attention on the kidnapped school girls.
According to The Nation, the meeting was attended by former Presidents and Heads of State, Olusegun Obasanjo, Shehu Shagari, Ibrahim Babangida, Yakubu Gowon, Abdulsalami Abubakar and Ernest Shonekan.
The President, who presided in the meeting urged Nigerians to be patient on the security challenges in the country as security agencies have to be cautious in order to reduce any loss of lives.
Governor, Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, who was accompanied by Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, as well as the Kaduna State Governor, Yero Ramalan, disclosed details of the meeting to journalists
