Commonwealth Game: Nigeria's 16-Yr-Old Gold Medal Winner (Women's 53kg) Fail Drug Test
Nigeria’s 16-year-old gold medal winner at the women’s 53kg competition on Saturday, Chika Amalaha, has failed her drug test.
The young girl tested positive to illegal substance and the Commonwealth Games Federation. Chief Executive, Mike Hooper, has warned everyone not to jump the horse and accuse her until further investigations reveal if she is guilty or not.
But if she would be found to be guilty, she will be stripped of her medal and disqualified. The athlete has immediately requested a ‘B sample’.
Nigeria now have a total of 10 medals. 6 from weightlifters by Sunday, Ebireguesele’s silver in weightlifting (women’s 69 kg) on Monday. Richard Okigbazi, men’s discus throw, added a bronze to for the collection of the team. So did 4-men team table tennis squad.
