She said she was thrashed and gang-raped by her husband and the other men who were with him, adding that they paraded her naked and when she asked for water, the men urinated on her face and forced her to drink it.
Confirming the incident, the Manoj Sharma, District Superintendent of Police said the woman’s family had reported the matter to the police after taking her to the Khandwa District Hospital.
He said acting on the complaint, the police have arrested all that were involved in the gang rape, including the victim’s husband, relatives and other villagers.
He said investigations are ongoing.

Following the December 2012, gang- rape of a student in New Delhi, there was public outcry both locally and internationally for better treatment for the country’s women. Despite this call, rape cases has continued to be on the increase in the country.
Just last week, a woman was reportedly gang-raped by police officers in the station.
Also last month, two cousins, aged 12 and 14, were gang-raped and their bodies were later found hung on a tree.
