UNBELIEVABLE: Husband Eats Wife’s Placenta After Childbirth And Describes It As ‘Beef-Like’ (PHOTO)

An American man, Nick Baines, has been reported to indulge in placentophagy, the act of eating the placenta.
According to reports, the Guardian journalist left the hospital where his wife delivered a baby boy with his wife’s placenta.
It was gathered that Mr Baines searched online for recipes to best ingest his wife’s discharge, with an initial attempt at a placenta smoothie proving unsuccessful.
The meat-filled drink ‘looked rank’, despite being blended with coconut water and banana for 10 minutes.
When asked by the surgeon who performed his wife’s C-section: ‘How did you cook it?’
Baines said: “Up front was the distinct flavour of banana, superseded by a metallic, bloody backnote.
“It had a mineral earthiness to it and tasted exactly like the delivery room had smelled.”
The father of one said he finally found success with seasoning the meat and cooking it served in a taco, which apparently tasted ‘rich, with a beef like quality.’
He said: “It was tender, kind of like roast brisket and not dissimilar to Texas BBQ.”
The act of eating the placenta is currently gaining popularity in the western world with a belief that it has health benefits.
According to Wikipedia, the placenta contains high levels of prostaglandin which stimulates involution (an inward curvature or penetration, or, a shrinking or return to a former size) of the uterus, in effect cleaning the uterus out.
The placenta also contains small amounts of oxytocin which eases birth stress and causes the smooth muscles around the mammary cells to contract and eject milk. There is no scientific evidence, however, that
eating placenta provides these hormonal effects.
