Human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, believes that Goodluck Jonathan’s sniper list mentioned by former President Olusegun Obasanjo might exist in reality.
Speaking at the public presentation of the book “Before we forget:
Obasanjo’s letter to President Jonathan and the aftermath”, the respected lawyer explained that Jonathan said nothing about Obasanjo’s allegations that he trains snipers, which might indicate that the watch list might actually exist.
According to Falana, the former president might have disclosed information about the list because the number of people included into it raised to 20, the Paradigm reports.
“One of the important points in that letter was the place it mentioned training of snipers. President Jonathan has brushed.aside, all those allegations and all we need to do is to keep them alive.”
Meanwhile Francis Abayomi, the author of the book, said that the reactions tracking the letter story where “overwhelming”.
The author explained that the objective of composing a 237-page book was to document this political act in history for the future lessons to be derived from it.
“Because we live in a country where we forget so soon, the book is aimed at documenting the debate on the basis of facts rather than fictions”
