A father and two sons along with 11 other perverts were detained by police for a brutal gang-rape of two underage teenage girls in Malaysia.
Almost 3,000 rape cases were reported in 2012 in Malaysia, with many of the victims aged 16 and below
A 15 and 17-year-old girls were repeatedly raped by 13 men for at least 20 hours in a neglected hut in Kelantan, Malaysia. Initially there were reports about 40 people that took part in the forced orgy but the information was not confirmed.
Apparently the innocent girls were lured to the hut where a group of lusty men, aged from 15 to 38, were waiting for them. There are suppositions that many of them were high on drugs, particularly on amphetamine.
All the arrested were the same village residents, moreover, some of the rapists were relatives to each other – a father and his two teenage sons were detained and interrogated. The case is still under investigation as police are searching for a few more alleged offenders.
Police expressed its discontent saying that the incident could have been avoided if the villagers contact the police or leastwise get suspicious of the closest neighbor’s whereabouts. Also the alleged attack sparked outrage among women’s groups as some politicians from a Muslim party running the region proposed to adopt Islamic law with more harsh penalties for such cases.
Almost 3,000 rape cases were reported in 2012 in Malaysia, with many of the victims aged 16 and below. Activists say many more cases go unreported due to a continuing stigma for rape victims in the Muslim-majority country.
