10 year-old Chukwuemeka Obi-Obasi has bagged a N6 million scholarship from The Federal Government after showing exceptional talent.
The 10 year-old prodigy showed his skill with an exceptionally written poem called “Nigeria my country.”
The poem had impressed Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike when he read it last week at the opening of the First Annual Conference of Certified Librarians in Abuja.
Wike announced the award today saying GEJ supports the scholarship to encourage the emergence of fresh talents.
Wike said: “This administration has always placed emphasis on discovering talents and encouraging them. “Such rare display of talents by our young ones is an indication that in spite of the current challenges, there is still hope for our country,”.
Obi-Obasi thanked the minister for the gift and urged his fellow mates to find and use their talents, he also hoped the scholarship will help him improve his own talent in writing and poetry.
