"My Husband Beats Me Before Sex" -Woman Tells Court >

A Housewife has urged a Mapo Customary Court, Ibadan, Oyo State to dissolve her marriage to her husband, Rasheed Olanrewaju for his alleged behavior of always beating her each time he wants to have sexual intercourse with her.
Shakirat who said she’s tired of her husband’s habit which has turned to a normal thing told the court that:
“Anytime I don’t allow him to have sex with me, he has made it a routine to beat me  thoroughly. As a matter of fact, I currently have many scars on my body due to the series of torture on me.
“Just three weeks ago, he beat me late at night and it took God’s special grace for me to be alive. I can’t stand for long as I used to do before due to the wounds he inflicted on me,” she said.
The husband, however, in his defence told the court that his wife had become disrespectful and comes home late at night.
He said: “The last time that I truly beat her, Shakirat bit my manhood and I couldn’t bear it. It is true that I beat her occasionally, but I still love her,” he emphasised Chief Henry Agbaje, the presiding judge, however, told the couple to work out a way of reconciling since its obvious they still love each other
