President Muhammadu Buhari has signed an instrument of ratification of the treaty on the establishment of the Abidjan-Lagos corridor among the Governments of Republic of Benin, Cote D’ivoire, Ghana, Togo and Nigeria.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, received a briefing from the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

The president and the CBN governor met behind closed-doors inside the president’s office for few minutes.

The CBN governor left the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja without speaking to State House correspondents.

The Presidency did not release any statement on what transpired at the meeting, but it was gathered that Emefiele briefed President Buhari on efforts towards strengthening the naira against the United States dollar.

President Buhari also on Tuesday, signed the instrument of ratification of the treaty on the establishment of the Abidjan-Lagos corridor.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, disclosed this in a statement he posted on his Facebook page.

The treaty is among the governments of Nigeria, the Republic of Benin, Cote D’ivoire, Ghana and Togo.
